Now it has been found that heart disease is linked with stress, smoking, poor nutrition and lack of exercise. Therefore, people have realized that they can reduce the risk of heart disease by changing lifestyle. Like people in the past they do not depend on doctors and medicine only. They know that they themselves should be responsible for improving their health. So they smoke less or stop smoking. They try to reduce stress. They eat food with less fat or cholesterol. They do regular exercise. Now death rate from heart disease has fallen. Better diagnosis and treatment may be one cause for this decrease. But peopleÚs awareness of the benefits of prevention is the main cause.
